Vaughn Hayden

LONG BEACH — Long Beach, Washington resident since 2001, George Hayden passed on May 13, 2018, in Long Beach with his wife, Mary, close friends and neighbors at his side. He was born Dec. 3, 1936, in Floresville, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hayden; daughter, Cathleen Marie (Dan); son Gregory Hayward Hayden (Patricia), their children, Paige and Piper, his son, Steven Charles Hayden; brother, Charles (Barbara) and sister, Deborah.

After a 22-year Naval Career, E-8 Selective, and 20 years as an Insurance Tech Rep at USAA, he moved to the Long Beach Peninsula where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, enjoying his hobby of fishing.

He was a member of the Long Beach Elks, American Legion, Fleet Reserve Association, and the Disabled American Veterans.

His burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on June 20, at 9:45 a.m.
