Elizabeth Zimmerman

December 24, 1924 — April 29, 2016

Elizabeth Emily (Miller) Zimmerman, known to all as Elizabeth, passed from this life on April 29, 2016 at her Grays River, Washington residence. The daughter of Glenn and Emily (Boyer) Miller, she was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 24, 1924. As a student she was active in 4-H, later becoming a leader, and was an accomplished seamstress.

Elizabeth received her education at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in Westminster, Maryland. In 1963 she came west with her family, settling in Gearhart, Oregon. She moved to the family farm in Grays River in 1975 where she lived until her death.

Elizabeth was a wife, mother and homemaker. Following college she was a graphic artist. She was an avid gardener, loved reading, and was a devoted member of Valley Bible Church in Rosburg, Washington.

On June 30, 1948 she married Paul Robert Zimmerman in Annandale, Virginia. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her children Paul Robert “Bob” Zimmerman of Warrenton, OR, Albert (Susie) Zimmerman of Torrance, CA, Elizabeth Ann (Steve) Reeck of Vancouver, WA, John (Bekalyn) Zimmerman of Grays River, Charlie (Kevena) Zimmerman of Longview, WA, Tom (April) Zimmerman of Grays River, and Dan (Tari) Zimmerman of Grays River; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandcildren. Also surviving is a sister Jeanne Eloise (known by close family as Eloise) Truitt of Grass Valley, Arizona.

Graveside rites of Christian burial will be Sat., May 7, 2016, 11:00 AM at Seal River Cemetery, Rosburg. Her guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
