Kendall Jennifer Akana, a resident of Long Beach, passed away unexpectedly January 25th, 2016 at the age of 54. She was the beloved daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Jett and loving step-daughter of Dorothy; baby sister of Karen Janine Eshleman and Kimberly Jaye Thenert.
Kendall relocated to the Peninsula five years ago and was the on-site manager of Westwind Manor Apartments in Long Beach, a housing option for the disabled. She was a loving and caring person and could always be counted on to drive a resident to the doctor or grocery store or help them through a medical crisis or loss. Kendall could strike up a conversation wherever she went and had too many people she called a friend to count.
Kendall lived most of her life in Hawaii and, even though the beaches of the Peninsula weren't the beaches of Waikiki, she always managed to maintain her suntan and her sunny personality.
Words cannot express how much she will be missed by her family. There will be a small family service to scatter her ashes in the ocean she loved so. If you would like to honor her, go for a walk on the beach and say “hi” to her. Her guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com..
