Frank J. Brauner Jr.

Frank J. Brauner Jr., 82, a resident of Ocean Park the past 18 years, died August 11, 2014 in Ilwaco. The son of Frank and Jewell (Baker) Brauner Sr., he was born January 11, 1932 in Eugene, Oregon. After receiving his education in Eugene, Frank worked in a cannery in Salem, Oregon. In 1949 he enlisted in the US Army, serving his country the ensuing three years during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service Frank was employed as a roofer in the construction trades until retirement. Eighteen years ago he moved to Ocean Park. Frank enjoyed life at the coast. He was a skilled woodworker and took pride in his home, yard and his family. He was a member of Ocean Park Moose, the American Legion, and was a former member of the Elks. In 1974 Frank married his wife Carol in Dayton, Oregon. She survives residing in Klipsan Beach where she recently moved. Also surviving are step-children Bryan (Pat) King of Tualip, Washington and Laurie Coe of Salem, Oregon; sister Yvonne Epperson; and grandchildren Karina Sprinkle, Anita Sellers, Cecily Eichman and Melissa King. Cemetery service with fill military honors will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 12 o'clock Noon at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
