Gene Coshow

Alvin Eugene "Gene" Coshow, age 94, died Dec. 4, 2013, in Ilwaco. Gene was a master craftsman and fisherman, and a perfectionist in all endeavors. He was a proud World War II Navy veteran and a longtime member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union No. 528. He had been a Peninsula resident since 1972. A kind and generous spirit, Gene was a loving father to his two daughters and a committed friend. He lived a life with integrity and concern for others. Gene will be dearly missed by his family, caring neighbors, his many friends and especially by his faithful companion, Zen. The family wishes to express their gratitude for everyone's compassion and support. As per Gene's request, his ashes will be spread onto the waters of the Pacific Ocean below Cape Disappointment on an outgoing tide. In remembrance of Gene, "Be Nice to One Another."
