Raymond Sopher

January 8, 1938 — November 15, 2012

At 2:25 in the afternoon on November 15, 2012, Raymond Eugene Sopher, 74, followed his beloved wife Cordie in eternal rest. Ray died at the hospital in Ilwaco following a one year struggle with cancer. Born January 8, 1938, Ray grew up in Skagit county, Washington and lived in Montana for a number of years. He moved to Ocean Park in 2011 to be close to his brother. He was happiest when he was fishing for sturgeon and ling cod and clam digging along the shores of the Seaview beach. He also enjoyed reading and frequently joked that he had read every book of specific genres contained at the Ocean Park library. Ray is survived by his sisters Myrle Medina of Happy Valley, OR and Lois Hensel of San Francisco; his brother Morton Sopher of Ocean Park; and numerous friends who will miss his quick wit and willingness to help when needed. Private memorial services for family and close friends will be held at a future date. His guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
