Stan Allen

October 18, 1932 — December 19, 2006

Stanley T. Allen, 74, of Ocean Park, WA died December 19, 2006 at Ocean Beach Hospital. Born October 18, 1932 in Oakland, CA, he was the son of James and Jessie (Nolan) Allen. The family lived in Alameda, Ca and he graduated from Alameda High School in 1950. When he was sixteen he met a lovely young lady, Lorry Montross, who was thirteen at the time. They were the best of friends, and on November 10, 1951 they were married. Stan worked in aircraft maintenance. He worked for several airlines, and began working for Air Asia in 1961, where he maintained aircraft for Air America and other airlines. The family lived in many places, to include Guam and Taiwan. He was Manager of Aircraft Maintenance for Air Asia at the time of the fall of Saigon in 1975. At that time the family returned to the states, and Stan began working for IBP in Washington and retired from IBP in 1988. After 27 years of living in Careywood, ID, Stan & Lorry moved to the Long Beach Peninsula in 2003. A kind and warm hearted family man, Stan loved to hunt & fish. He was a member of the Air America Association. Stan is survived by his wife Lorry of the family home; his children Stacey Holley and son-in-law John of San Diego, CA, Rob Allen and daughter-in-law Valarie of Renton, WA, Kreig Allen and daughter-in-law Tammie of Dallas, TX and Dennis Allen of Las Vegas, NV; Grandchildren Russell, Cara, Cliff and Robby. He was proceeded in death by his son Kenny in 1996 and this past year by his grandson Matthew Holley who was serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach, WA.
