Barbara "Bobbie" Bowles

Barbara Jean Bowles, known affectionately as Bobbie, passed away on February 9, 2024 in Ocean Park, Washington. She was born on August 21, 1946, in Portland, Oregon, to parents Lorin Nelson and Loyce Johnson. 

Bobbie led a fulfilling life as a dedicated bartender for 27 years and will always be remembered for her warm and welcoming presence behind the bar. Her friendly nature and ability to make others feel at ease made her a beloved figure in the Vancouver and Ocean Park communities. Through the years, she established significant relationships with those she served, and many considered her more than just their bartender; she was their friend.

Beyond her career, Bobbie had an unwavering passion for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, camping, and reading. She also enjoyed a good competition, whether at the local shuffleboard tournament or the chili cookoff. Bobbie was a proud member of both the Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge in Ocean Park.

Bobbie is survived by her son Chris Dungan, daughters Loyceann Crawford and Launie Dungan, sister Jennie Nelson, and brothers Larry and Jay Nelson. She also leaves behind her special friend Tom McQueen. Bobbie was loved by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life. Her grandchildren Kathlynn, Kamryn, Jackie, Justine, Haley, Patrick, Brandon, Sandra, and Crystal will forever carry the memories of their loving grandmother. Likewise, her great-grandkids Jayden, Nathen, Caleb, Clementine and Jamison will grow up hearing stories of their extraordinary great-grandmother.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her daughters Lynn Dungan and Gina Lynn Dungan, and her husband Lynn Vern Bowles.

She will always be remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love for those she held dear.

Bobbie will be inurned at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, WA. At Bobbie's request, there will be no service.
