Naselle, Washington - Barbara Lynwood Donlon, age 74 passed away on Monday, June 1st, 2026. She was born on July 18, 1951, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington, to Helen Olberg and George Gunn.
Barbara grew up in Port Townsend, Washington, with her siblings Ernest, Karen, and Helen. She graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1969 and later earned a Bachelor's Degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia.
On July 17, 1971, Barbara married Peter Albert Donlon of Antioch, California, at McGowan Catholic Church. They met through Barbara's sister, Karen, and brother-in-law, Mike Logan, while Pete and Mike worked together at the Naselle Youth Camp.
Throughout her life, Barbara was a jack of all trades, working in her father's grocery store, her mother’s children’s boutique store, the Jack and Jill Shop, and The Quipmer in Port Townsend. Later during her life in Naselle, she worked at the Naselle Youth Camp, and later coordinated summer activities programs for disadvantaged youth in Wahkiakum County. She also worked for the Rosburg Middle School teaching computer processing and typing classes to the middle schoolers. She also owned and operated her own boutique shop called Fishermen and Wives in Naselle and later worked for Senior Services in Astoria, Oregon. Barbara also bought and renovated several houses in Astoria.
Barbara was known for her creativity, generosity, and thoughtful nature. She enjoyed decorating, floral arranging, creating stained glass, making Button Flowers, and taking on countless projects around the family farm on Salmon Creek Road. Whether remodeling the barn, improving the sauna, converting a horse trailer into a tiny house, making a tree fort with a zip line for the grandkids, or decorating for Christmas, she always had ideas and creativity with everything she did.
Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Pete; her sons, Kyle and Quinn; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Amber Donlon; grandchildren Lucy, Samantha, Liam, and Lucas; her siblings Karen and Helen; and many other nephews, nieces, and other extended family members and friends.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to others, and the lasting impact she made on her family and community.
A service for Barbara will be held at Salmon Creek Cemetery in Naselle, WA on Saturday, June 20th at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception immediately following at the Donlon Farm.
