Barbara Lynn Mosher, a long-time resident of Long Beach, Washington, lost her courageous battle for life on January 13, 2021, due to complications from surgery. "Barb" was born to Sune (Andy) and Violeta (Claus) Anderson on October 2, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. She had various medical and dental positions in Bellevue after graduating from Renton High School.
Barb and her husband, Michael H. Tornow relocated to the Long Beach area from Sandpoint, Idaho, when he took a teaching position here on the peninsula. A lightening fast typist, Barb worked locally as a legal secretary for then-attorney Douglas Goelz and also as a secretary in the computer science division at the Oregon Graduate Institute.
Barb lost her husband, Michael to heart disease in 1993, but found love again with Randy Mosher two years later. They were married at the Oysterville Church. Her employer, Douglas Goelz officiated the service. Barb and Randy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last autumn.
Barb was known for her warm and generous spirit, her mismatched socks and the love she shared with Randy for vintage automobiles. A devotee of early morning constitutionals, for many years Barb could be seen at daylight walking along the streets of Tides West. In 2018, she and Randy discovered an old horse pasture and transformed the acreage into their vision of paradise, "The Rocking Chair Ranch." She then found great joy walking along the bogs that ran near their property.
Barb was a passionate animal advocate and gardener who loved to read, crochet scarves for everyone, and write. Barb's newsy emails kept all who loved her in touch with her life.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Randy Mosher, her brother Russell Anderson, her walking companion, Gracee and many friends. Rest in peace, Barb. We will miss you.
