Carol Jean Humes

Carol Jean Tucker Humes December 14, 1938 – September 4, 2026 

Carol Jean Tucker Humes passed away in Seaside, Clatsop County, Oregon, on September 4, 2026, just two days before her wedding anniversary. Born in Oregon City, Clackamas County, Oregon, Carol was a descendant of Oregon Pioneers of Clackamas County. She was the daughter of the late Marion David Tucker Sr. and Hazel Naomi Gibson. 

Carol was raised in Portland, Oregon, graduating from Franklin High School before continuing her education at Chemeketa Community College. Throughout her career, she worked for John Hancock Insurance Company and as a CMA at Marion Estates in Sublimity, Oregon. Over the years, she resided in Barton, Portland, North Bonneville, Mill City, Stayton, Ocean Park, and Seaside. Carol was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. 

Carol married Glen Allen Humes on September 6, 1958, in Portland, Oregon. She was a devoted mother and active volunteer with the Ocean Park Food Bank and the Eagles Auxiliary. Her passions included raising her family, reading, home improvement, gardening, traveling, and taking walks along the ocean. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Allen Humes. She is survived by her children, Craig Humes of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Robert Humes (Curt Sagner) of Seaside, Oregon; her grandchild, Emily Pine Humes of Portland, Oregon; as well as her half-siblings and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Steven Glen Humes and Glenn Anthony Humes. 

Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Per Carol's request, no funeral service will be held.
