Constance "Connie" Mosher

January 18, 1933 — December 2, 2023

Connie Mosher, age 90, passed away at home on Dec. 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Connie was born on Jan. 18, 1933, at North Head Lighthouse in Ilwaco, WA, to Andros and Aleta (Mattson) Siniluoto. She lived in the head lighthouse keeper’s residence until age three, when her father, the lighthouse keeper,  retired and the family moved to Ilwaco.

She received her schooling in Ilwaco and upon graduating married Edward Mosher, on Feb. 18, 1951, in Camas, WA. They established their first home in St. Helens, OR. Family drew them back to the peninsula, where they resided first in Ilwaco and then in Chinook.

While raising their young children, Connie’s job was as a wife and homemaker. As the kids got older, she worked seasonally at Chinook Packing Co. and in various waitressing jobs.

In the early ’70s, Connie lived part of the year in Kodiak, AK, where Ed fished king crab. Connie often went on the boat to cook. They had many adventures and a few harrowing experiences they lived to tell about.

Ed always dreamed of owning a restaurant, so in the early ’80s, they purchased the Nemah Café in Nemah, WA. They had it for several years until Ed fell ill. After his passing, Connie went to work at My Mom’s Pie as a cook and piemaker, then to her last job, as a clerk at the Ilwaco Pharmacy, until her retirement at age 80.

More than anything, she loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Candy (Steve) Fick and Sandy Gudjonsson; her grandchildren, Nick Oman, Alison Nelson, Jon Fick, Robert Heen and Annika Gudjonsson; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Jimmy; her sister, Mary Ann Heckard; and her son-in-law, Roy Gudjonsson.

Connie loved her animals, especially Odie, her companion for the last seven years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and traveling with her family.

She will forever have a lasting imprint on our hearts. Rest in peace, Mom. You are finally home!
