Dolores Jean (Davis) Rasmussen
July 8, 1938 ~ November 23, 2025
Dolores was called home to heaven on November 23, 2025, in Longview, WA, surrounded by love. She was born in Marblemount, WA, on July 8, 1938, to Lucille & Delbert Davis. Dolores was the oldest daughter of five brothers and three sisters.
Graduate of Kalama High School, 1957. Attended Skagit Valley College in Mt.Vernon, WA., graduate of Bernard’s School of Beauty & The Kree School of Electrology in Chicago, IL After college, she worked at Longview Fibre and the Bon Marche Beauty Salon.
Dolores married Gerald (Jerry) Rasmussen on June 14, 1963, in Longview, WA. They settled into their home on Longview’s Old Westside. A daughter, Kimberly, and a son, Jeff, soon arrived. Dolores opened a beauty salon in their house, and soon their home became a gathering spot for customers, neighbors, and friends. From the late 1970s into the mid-1980s, many R.A. Long graduates gathered at the house for post-game hamburger feeds, Bible studies, and pickup basketball games. All were welcome.
Her passion for baking and the community led Dolores to open Spaghetti Works & Deli at “The Merk” in the late 1980s. She briefly opened a second location at the Triangle Mall, then moved to 14th Avenue. The Deli was a hub for Bible study groups and for R.A. Long & Mark Morris football players' team dinners, anything for the community. Dolores sold the restaurant in 2007 when she retired.
In retirement, she loved spending time with family, especially her cherished grandson, Warren, baking pies and potato rolls, reading the Bible, and watching Fox News.
We’ll carry your light and love in our hearts until that glorious day we all embrace again in heaven.
Dolores is survived by her husband Gerald; daughter Kimberly King (Jeff Rauth) of Longview, Washington; son Jeff (Marsha) Rasmussen of Madras, Oregon; beloved grandson Warren Rasmussen; brothers Duane, Jerry (Dona), and Daryl (DelRita); sisters Judith Davis and Liannie Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert & Lucille; brothers, Larry and Jack; and sister, Linda.
A private internment will take place at the Peaceful Hill Cemetery in Naselle, WA.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned
