Joanne Ellen Weyl

Joanne Weyl passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on September 15, 1931, in Chadron, Nebraska. She attended Chadron State College and it was there that she met her future husband, Robert Weyl.

Joanne and Robert were mairied in 1950 beginning their life together and starting a family. They eventually moved to Mentone, CA, where they raised their 4 children. In 1968, the family moved to Long Beach, Washington, which became their longtime home.

Joanne dedicated many years to her work at Ocean Beach Hospital, where she served as head of the Medical Records Department until her retirement. Outside of work, Joanne was a member of New Life Assembly of God and served as church treasurer for many years, she found joy in quilting and, most of all, in spending time with her family. She treasured the time shared with her children, grandchildren and the generations that followed.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Weyland her son-in-law, David Rhoads. She leaves behind her four children: Debbie (Richard) Patana, John (Susan) Weyl, Julie Rhoads, and David (Jeannie Weyl); grandsons Rob Wirkkala, Ron Wirkkala, Randy Wirkkala, Eric Rhoads, Dennis Weyl, Kevin Weyl, Harley Weyl, Daniel \Veyl, Chris Patadci and Matt Patana, as well as numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Joanne will be remembered for the love she gave her family, the memories she created through the years and the many lives she touched. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts and cherish the legacy of love she leaves behind.
