Joseph “Joe” Allen Aasen, 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 10th, 2025, at home in Long Beach, Washington.
Joe was born December 23rd, 1961 in Bellingham, WA. He was raised in Longview, WA where he graduated from R. A. Long High School. After graduation, he attended tech school in Arizona. Joe returned to Longview, joining the Carpenters Union and had a long career with JH Kelly, taking great pride in his work and truly enjoying going each day. He made many friendships through work and retired at age 52, moving to Long Beach, WA.
Joe had a passion for motorcycles and cars. He could build anything and loved working in his garage restoring old cars. He raced vintage drag cars in the Northwest Nostalgia Tour. He spent a lot of time on the water and at the beach fishing and clam digging with friends, family, and his beloved dogs Harley and Marley. Joe was very proud and fond of his grandchildren. He loved spoiling them and always made a point to attend their games and programs. Joe’s faith became very strong later in life, he was active almost daily at The Gospel Church in Long Beach and was re-baptized March 3rd, 2024.
Joe is survived by his two children, Joseph “Joey” Aasen and Ashley Krause (Seth), two granddaughters, Sophie and Kate Krause; siblings Jeff Aasen, Janet Ringbom, and Jennifer Duenhoelter (Uwe), Aunt Janelle Farstad (Karl), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Aasen and Judith Heinlen, brother-in-law Ron Ringbom, and many aunts and uncles, including Jon Aasen, with whom he was very close.
Joe had a gentle spirit about him that everyone loved. He had a generous heart, would help anyone in need, and made friends wherever he went.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 6th at 2pm at the Willow Grove Park – Coweeman Pavilion in Longview. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, family members ask that donations be made to The Gospel Church in Long Beach, WA.
