We are saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Michael Reidy on 5-12-2026.

Born on March 8th, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, Joe was a long-time resident of Portland. As a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon in 1956, Joe attended Portland State University studying chemistry briefly, then spent his entire 44-year career managing the Kienow's grocery store on 33rd street in NE Portland. Married to his High School sweetheart Carol Jean Heisler in 1958 and is survived by his daughter Deborah J. Reidy and son Steven J. Reidy.

After his retirement in 1999, Joe and Carol moved to the Desert SW and lived in Palm Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Tucson and Bullhead City for 15 years. After the passing of Carol in 2015, Joe moved to the Long Beach peninsula and lived in Ocean Park Washington. After a 5-year revival of his grocery store career at Jack's Country Store, special thanks to owner Tom Downer, Joe retired once again and enjoyed the Peninsula life and met Sarah Duffy soon after he arrived. He and Sarah enjoyed many adventures together in his time on the Peninsula up to the time of his passing.

Joe enjoyed golfing, baking apple pies, basketball, target shooting, ping pong and even played in a kazoo marching band in Hawaii. Joe was always a person to strike up a conversation if he knew you or not, very outgoing. Joe will be missed by all the acquaintances, friends, and family he left behind in his 88-year life.
