Judge Dennie Bullock

November 16, 1926 — July 5, 2024

Judge Bullock of Ocean Park, WA. died on July 5, 2024 at the age of 97.

Judge was born in Bristow, Oklahoma to Rose and Judge "Dennie" Bullock.  He grew up in Joes, Colorado where he worked on the family farm.  When Jud was 13 years old his parents dropped him off in Kansas and told him to get a job.  A farmer picked him up and he would work for Room and Board and $1 a day.  His parents didn't know where he was all summer.

In school in 1941 & 1942 Jud was a high jumper.  At a county meet he jumped 6'4" and at that time the Olympic record was 6'6".  But because only 2 kids qualified for state his didn't get to go because they needed 3 kids to be able to get a bus to take them.  He competed against the high school kids when he was in the 7th & 8th grade.  He won many ribbons that all say First Place in High Jump, softball throw, pole vault, 75 yard dash & broad jump.  His son Dale has all the ribbons on display.

In 1949, Jud met the love of his life "Florella" where she was working as a carhop in Forest Grove, Oregon.  The first time he saw her he said, "I'm going to marry her."  He picked her up at 1:00 am every morning and took her home so she didn't have to walk the mile home in the dark.  They were married one year later October 7th, 1950 and were married 73 years.

Jud retired from United Grocers after 35 years.  He was a Jack of All Trades.  He could fix cars, and do plumbing and electrical.

He was a big collector of spurs with his son Dale.  Dale has continued the love of collecting.  He also loved to play pinochle every night with his daughter and son-in-law, up until his last year.

Judge is survived by his wife Florella (92), his son Dale and daughter Pam.  A daughter-in-law Terri and son-in-law Doug.  He had 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his mother Rose Cross, father Judge "Dennie", sister Betty Curtiss, and brothers Donald & Laverne Cross, and great granddaughter Ashlee.

Jud was able to be at his daughter and son-in-laws home in Ocean Park, Washington with family until the end where he passed away in the ambulance.

Dad, you will be deeply missed and in our hearts forever.

Judge has requested no funeral or memorial service, so we are honoring his wishes.
