Kent Charles Geiger, “KC,” 65 of Ilwaco, WA, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024.
Born on August 14, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, KC was the son of the late Max Lee Geiger and Jane Ellen (Miller) Geiger Lannoye. He attended Stevenson High School in Livonia, MI, before leaving to join the Navy, where he proudly served from 1975 to 1977. KC completed his GED later in life, reflecting his commitment to personal growth.
KC’s passions were many and varied. From a young age, he was deeply involved in hockey, a sport he loved passionately, with a particular fondness for the Detroit Red Wings. His musical talents were equally impressive; he played the drums, started his first band in high school, and was a gifted poet and writer. Professionally, KC thrived as a chef, delighting many with his culinary skills.
KC is survived by his devoted wife, Marianne Kullberg Geiger of Ilwaco, WA; his siblings Kelly Jordan of Casa Grande, AZ, Kim Geiger Anderson of Livonia, MI, Chris Geiger of Michigan, and Kurt Geiger of Michigan; his sons Charlie Anderson of Florida, Shaun Anderson of Orlando, FL, Michele Peck Jankowski, stepdaughter, Rolling Prairie Indiana; his stepson Jordan Hodge and daughter-in-law Mel Hodge of Fort Collins, CO, and their children Abigail Beaver, Jakob Hodge, and Hannah Hodge; as well as stepson Daniel Hodge and daughter-in-law Katherine Hodge of Gilbert, AZ, and their children Brennan Hodge, Liam Hodge, and Hazel Hodge. He was predeceased by his father Max Lee Geiger, mother Jane Ellen Lannoye, and sister Cathy Harding.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Church, previously Venersborg Church 24317 NE 209th St., Battle Ground, WA 98604 on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Interment will precede the service and will be held at 9:00 am at the Venersborg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels, honoring KC’s love of feeding and caring for others.
KC was known for his great sense of humor, his love of music, and his remarkable singing voice. He had a zest for life, enjoyed a good laugh, and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His love for a good movie quote was legendary and brought joy to many.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this time, including the wonderful hospice staff who provided compassionate care.
