Lois Cameron

October 14, 1930 — July 14, 2025

Lois Cameron, age 94, passed away quietly in her sleep on July 14th, 2025 in her apartment at Clatsop Retirement Village in Astoria, OR.

Born in Colville, Washington, she was one of five children born to Robert Day and Martha Patton Day. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1948 where she met her future husband Charles Cameron, where they both shared an interest in archery and cheerleading. They were married in September of 1950 and had four children together: Susan, Chris, Martha, and Pat. They moved to Seaview, Wa from the Yakima area in the mid-sixties.

A long-time resident of Seaview, she worked at the Seaview Post Office and retired as the postmaster in 1991. She continued working with mail by starting her own mailing forwarding business to help the many snowbirds and others who did not live in the area year round. She also became an avid gardener, revitalizing the Seaview Beach Approach Garden through many years of effort and often out of her own pocket, gaining support from the community and eventually the county to help continue her efforts.

Lois is survived by three of her children, Chris, Martha, and Pat, as well as 5 grandchildren, Rachel, Danielle, KC, Sean, and Tina, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Martha, husband Charles, brothers Robert, Alvin and Melvin Day, sister Marian Day Sadler, daughter Susan Cameron Durant and grandson Charles Thompson.
