Patrick Prest

Patrick J. Prest passed away February 1, 2026. He was born in Astoria, OR to Michael and Beverly (Malmstadt) Prest on July 21 1984. He was raised on the peninsula in both Chinook and Seaview, graduating with the Ilwaco High School class of 2003.

Pat married his soul mate and high school sweetheart, Amanda Miller, in 2008.

A long time employee of Wirkkala Construction, Pat was excellent at what he did, just ask anyone he had done work for.

Pat enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming, camping, a good beach cruise and of course a raging bonfire. His family supported him in his love for the outdoors. The family dog, Nala was particularly close with Pat.

Survivors include wife Amanda, children Lucas and Payton, all of Ilwaco; father Michael Prest; grandmother Elizabeth (Betty) Malmstadt; aunts Frankie McNeal, Bonnie Stambaugh, Pam Prest Wainwright, Shelly Prest, Nancy Prest Bielman; uncles Phil and Joe Malmstadt and God daughter Annie Engel.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Beverly, grandfather, Cliff Malmstadt, uncle Brett Prest and God daughter Molly Fay.

Family, friends and co-workers will certainly miss Pat’s presence and smile.

There will be a celebration of life memorial for Pat on Saturday, February 21 from 11 to 2 at Chico’s Pizza, Seaview, WA
