Peggy Louise (Kelley) Mills, a woman with a heart of gold who absolutely loved being involved in a little neighborhood drama, passed away on June 11, 2026 in Wilsonville, OR. Born on December 13, 1940, in Madera, California, to Betty Muller and Elvis Kelley, she was raised by her dad and step-mom in Woodland, California.
A Life in Constant Motion For 40 years, Peggy made her home in Ocean Park, WA. To say Peggy was a hard worker would be a massive understatement; she simply wouldn't stop moving. A true "Jack of all trades", her remarkably eclectic career path included time as a school bus driver for the Peninsula, a trade show coordinator, and finally, bringing joy (and sandwiches) to others at Molly's Train Station Subs.
She was so fiercely independent and determined that she was known to gather cans just to pay for repairs on her truck. Community, Chaos, and Care Peggy was heavily active in her community and her life. She proudly served as the President of the Ladies Auxiliary 3721 and was a very active, dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Seaview, WA. She was wonderfully, unapologetically herself: a self-proclaimed hoarder who was admittedly a bit nosey. But her curiosity came from a place of deep compassion, as she genuinely loved everyone. She had an enormous capacity for caretaking, stepping up to look after many children on the Peninsula over the years.
Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Mills, and her three children Kenny, Betty, and Barry, who have been patiently waiting for her in Heaven. Her legacy of hard work, fierce love, and an appreciation for a good story lives on throughout the peninsula.
Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Peggy's vibrant life on June 26, 2026
