Richard Ray Arp was born on January 25, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, the firstborn child to Carl D. Arp and Hazel Mae Selby.
He graduated from Camas High School in 1953. Was in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1961. Was married to Marjorie Allyn from 1957 to 1999. He relocated to the Long Beach Peninsula from Goldendale, WA, in 1999.
Dad worked at a variety of occupations including: carpenter, small business owner, locksmith, scissor sharpener, sewing machine repairer, deputy sheriff, and car salesman.
Hobbies included hunting, fishing, shooting, golfing, reading, acting with the Peninsula Players, and especially bowling.
Dad’s heart failed and he was found in his home on November 2, 2023.
His sisters Janet (Arp) Boone and Carol (Arp) Moltrum preceded him in death. His brother, Robert Arp; daughter, Cindy Arp-Teasley; son, Randy Arp; son, Dale Arp; grandson, Lloyd Wyatt Arp; grandson, Richard Allyn Arp; and granddaughter, Laurie Ellen Arp survive him.
