Sharon Feakes

February 21, 1944 — August 10, 2024

Sharon Beverly Feakes was born on July 21, 1944, the first child of Ralph and Evelyn Dykema. She was raised in New Plymouth, Idaho on a dairy farm along with her siblings.

Her sense of adventure got her in trouble a lot!! And when she got knocked down, she blamed only herself, dusted herself off and was up running again! She just loved the life laid out ahead of her. After years of colorful living, she met and married Jimmy Feakes and they settled in Long Beach, WA, her favorite place in the world. She met friends there that learned to love her and after learning to love her, loved her with a passionate, fierce love that the rest of us envy. Jenny and Don and their family have selflessly loved and cared for Sharon in ways you can’t even imagine. Her list of friends that made her life special (and she made theirs special) is too long to list here. Our whole family is blessed because of them.

I’m pretty sure if you ever met Sharon, you knew she LOVED photography. She gave cameras to many, many people ---not little cheap cameras either! Her love of flowers and nature and old barns and rust (yes, rust!) flood our Facebook pages. Her last generous idea was Aura digital frames (and they are the coolest things!) I’m sure she lost count of how many she gave to family and friends. To say that we will miss her is an understatement. She touched our lives deeply and the evidence of her love and passion are everywhere.

Sharon passed away at her home, peacefully, with her dearest friends at her side. She is survived by sister Coralee and brother-in-law Troy Nelson, brother Dan and favorite sister-in-law Fay Dykema, Lisa Tate, Jordan and Jennessa and a long list of nieces and nephews that were very special to her.

A graveside memorial will be held at a later date.
