Sol Victor Gino Armer, 62, passed away in Long Beach, WA. He was born in Coral Gables/Miami, Florida on December 4, 1962, the son of James Armer and Camille Armer (nee Carangi). The family moved to Washington in 1967, and resided in Bellevue. Sol attended Cherry Crest Elementary, Hyak Junior High, and Interlake High School, and later went on to earn his GED. Sol worked in the computer industry, learning several coding languages. He loved astronomy and flight, earned his private pilot’s license in the early 1980s and participated in the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed martial arts and earned a black belt in judo. He followed the Eckankar faith, and was well-versed in the Bible. Most recently he worked at the Walmart in Warrenton, where he enjoyed honing and using his Spanish speaking skills. In the past few years, he became interested in 3D printing, creating galleons and castles for his great niece and nephew.
He is survived by his sisters, Jamye Lucier of Ocean Park, WA, Gina Armer of Tumwater, WA, Donna Shaler of Sammamish, WA, his niece Mouni Nguyen of Snoqualmie, WA, and his great nephew and niece, Jordan and Jade Nguyen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven Armer of Windsor, CT.
Sol was intelligent, humorous and compassionate. He always strove to treat others as he would want to be treated. He enjoyed science fiction, especially the Star Trek, Star Wars and Dune franchises. He will be remembered and missed by his family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, his life will be remembered and celebrated privately by the family. Arrangements have been made through Penttila's Chapel by the Sea Funeral Home in Long Beach, WA. Those wishing to remember Sol and/or express condolences may sign the online guest book.
